The silhouette of the Champion Suite was born from a window seat on a train bound for Dehradun. As the landscape blurred past, my grandmother spotted him-a horse of such singular grace and power that she named him on the spot: Champion. Decades later, that memory has been distilled into the 18k gold “saddle” that crowns these pieces. Adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds, the horse saddle motif is a tribute to that fleeting moment of beauty-a reminder that a single glimpse of elegance
can inspire a lifetime of creation.
At the heart of the pendant and earrings lies a material rarely found in high jewelry: recycled glass. My grandmother had a profound love for “fixing” the world; she saw potential in the broken and beauty in the reclaimed.
Inspired by the shape of her eyeglasses, we crafted these pieces using glass as a literal and metaphorical lens. It represents her perspective – the ability to look through the mundane and see the extraordinary. Framed in a delicate gold-beaded border, the glass acts as a window, catching the light and the skin beneath it in a soft, ethereal glow.
While diamonds are the language of our 8th-generation legacy, Opals are the dialect of my childhood. They were her favorite
gemstone, but more personally, they were my first. The very first piece of jewelry ever made for me as a baby was a pair of opal earrings. By centering this suite around the opal, we are honoring a double-lineage: the professional mastery of the diamondtaire and the personal sentiment of a grandmother’s love. The shifting fires within the opal reflect the “Champion” spirit-ever-changing, yet timeless.
